Since
1968 The Professional Bartending School has trained more
bartenders and provided bartending job placement assistance for bartender
jobs throughout Washington, DC, Virginia, and Maryland than any other
source. For over 40 years, over 1,000 nightclubs, hotels, restaurants,
bars, country clubs, and pubs have relied on The Professional
Bartending School to fill their bartending jobs with certified
bartenders. Bartending
jobs can work for everyone. Its a terrific full-time job.
Bartending is the perfect, fun flexible part-time job. Bartending
is a great transition job. Since the 1960's Washington region students
have helped pay their way through school with bartending. No matter
your age or preferences our grads can be found bartending throughout Maryland,
Washington DC, and Virginia. In fact check this informative fun
web site of DC bars clubs and lounges.
Our grads are working in most of these popular places.
Job
Placement Updates: First 2 Weeks of July:
If you are looking for a bartending school that REALLY helps grads with
placement help....look no further. Since the beginning of the year
we have been updating summaries of real grads landing real jobs throughout
Maryland, DC, Virginia and beyond. No other bartending school in
the region can do this.
During
the first 2 weeks of July about 15-20 grads picked up substantial catering
opportunities including a huge event that guaranteed more pay in one week
than the cost of enrollment. How is that for payback? Actually
the largest caterers in the region have been using our grads for years.
They have had on site recruiting visits. We have a great fix on
how to use catering all the time as a great source for part time income.
Meanwhile
almost 30 additional grads landed regular bartending gigs. Besides
half of them picking up bartender positions in DC, grads landed bartending
jobs with restaurants, bars, and hotels in Temple Hills, Bethesda, College
Park, Bowie, Capital Heights, Greenbelt, Clinton, Rockville, and Fort
Washington on the Maryland side. In Virginia grads picked up bartending
gigs in Arlington, Alexandria, two in Sterling, two in Fairfax, and one
in Ashburn during this time period. You can see specifically who
and where by visiting our facebook page.
Job
Placement Highlights First Half of 2010:
Since Jan 1, grads have landed almost 500 bartending jobs. You can
see an actual list of who is getting bartending jobs at our Facebook
Page
We
also got this terrific testimonial
from Allison a grad who not only enjoyed the 40 hour program but describes
the job she landed through our job placement assistance program.
Since the beginning of the year week after week grads land about 20 bartending
jobs. Some are in new places; some have hired from us for
years. During the last 2 weeks of June, these employers that have
hired from us for many years hired recent grads including; Austin
Grill, La Porta in Alexandria, Columbia Country Club, Doubletree Restaurant
on Rhode Island Ave, Paper Moon in Georgetown, Uno's, Hogate's, Friday's,
Heavon and Hell, Summers in Arlington, Timheri in Adams Morgan, and Legend
in Temple Hills. Each of them have been hiring grads for well over
5 years. On top of that you should see the list of grads working
at totally new places!!!
I
First
Half June 2010 Update: Pretty
consistently as over the last several months, over 40 grads landed hard
bartending jobs at bars, hotels, clubs, and restaurants in DC, MD, and
Va. There was more. A number of recent grads moved from
the area, picked up bartending jobs in different cities. They
used our unique methods for landing a bartending job anywhere.
They also used reciprocal bartending job placement with schools around
the nation. In fact we placed a bartending school grad from a
different school in this market. Bar school operators around the
nation know they can depend on us for our help.
If you check
the list of grads on our Facebook Page who landed jobs over the last
few months you'll see that some bars hire from us on a regular basis.
Some hire groups of grads. The current list of bars that hire
our grads keeps expanding dramatically as more and more bar owners see
our tremendous success.
May
2010 Placement Update:
Our bartending school focuses on placing grads throughout the region
and elsewhere. Instead of citing platitudes We show
you who is getting work. Over the last two weeks
of May just under 50 grads landed bartending jobs!! In Maryland
our grads became working bartenders in Forestville, Bethesda, Fort Washington,
Chevy Chase, Largo and Clinton. In Virginia grads started bartending
in Woodbridge, Arlington, Alexandria, Ashburn, Fredericksburg, and Lansdowne.
In DC a popular Adams Morgan Club that has hired our grads since the
late 1990's hired a bunch. We saw a lot of grads land jobs in
Georgetown, in Northeast and Southeast, on the Waterfront, in the Penn
Quarter and of course the club and its owner who has been hiring our
grads since the late 1980's.: Love Nightclub. To see which
grads are actually working where you can arrange a visit to the school
or check out our page on Facebook (Professional Bartending School Washington
DC)
Mid

April
Update:
As of the end of April grads landed over 80 additional bartending jobs.
Its very impressive. Since we upgraded our job placement assistance
program last summer, we have steadily improved these results.
Since January 1, this year we have assisted grads in landing over 300
bartending jobs. You can see most of this activity by
going to Facebook and search for our Group:
Professional Bartending School DC.
We
still haven't seen another bartending school report these kinds of results,
or give prospective students an actual list of real grads with real
jobs....and its all happening right NOW. Last Monday I picked
up the phone and a grad from the previous Friday was returning a call
from our placement director. He had the chance to go through initial
placement that Friday. Bingo!! Monday we had a job lead
for him!! Success breeds success. Check it out.
Arrange a visit and see what we do that makes this school so different
from other bartending schools around the nation.
Mid
April Update, 2010:
Our placement director is still producing awesome results. Since
the beginning of the month about 40 grads have landed bartender jobs
in the region. We are getting an enormous amount of activity at
both Reagon and Dulles airports at both the airport bars and nearby
hotels. Meanwhile, we had a recent grad land a bartending job
at Tattoo in DC. That is a killer bar/club/lounge. On the
other side of the coin, Laura, a grad is making very posh and fancy
drinks at Morton's in Reston. You can see exactly who is getting
these jobs and where if you arrange to visit the school and see our
placement lists. They are awesome. We have been updating
on a more regular basis since December of last year and have yet to
see any bartending school in the entire nation report anything like
this overwhelming volume of grads landing specific jobs.
March
and First Quarter 2010 Updates: Graduates
landed over 90 bartending jobs in March. That makes well over
200 bartending jobs since the beginning of the year. During March grads
landed jobs in towns such as Silver Spring at Eggspectations and Taste
of Morocco, in Manassas at Ramblin's Bistro and Bar, Ruby Tuesday, and
WOW, and in DC around Union Station at Capitol City Brewery and Uno's.
Actually one of those hiring managers has been contacting us for at
least 5 years. You can see about these grads and more at our Facebook
GROUP site by searching for Professional Bartending School DC or you
can arrange a visit to our school, ask questions, see the classes, speak
to students and staff and evaluate for yourself.
March
23, 2010 Update:
In the last week our placement director reports 21 more grads with jobs.
Since this past summer our placement director and our new efforts are
helping more grads land more bartending jobs than we have ever seen.
And we are doing this in a recession!!! You can visit us and see
who is working where.
If you hang
out or stop for drinks in DC you might see some of our grads who have
landed bartending jobs at these places (just counting since Jan. 1,
2010): Penn Qtr. Sports Lounge, K Street Lounge, 3rd Edition,
Ozio's ( a couple of grads) Fridays at Pa Ave. and 21st, NW, Alero,
Grill for Ipanema, Cafe Bonaparte, XII, Ultra Bar, ESPN Zone, Red Lounge,
Green Lantern, Heaven and Hell, and of course grads at the reopening
of Love Nightclub. There are more. (Maybe in the next two
weeks we will list places in Md or Va.). Its hard to stop somewhere
in the region without running into one of our grads.
March
14, 2010 Update: Only
2 weeks into March and we can report another 40+ grads landed bartending
jobs. Is any school giving you this kind of info? Does a
bartending school located in Arlington serve Maryland? You betcha!!
This month Tainika landed a bartending job at The Velvet Club Nightclub
in Baltimore, Meagan took a bartender job at BWX Lounge in Hanover,
near the airport, and Stephanie hooked up a bartending job at The Landing
in Hagerstown. There are more!!
In
the last few days Will, Erwin, Nikki, Dante, and Alona landed bartender
jobs in DC. You can visit us and see where they are working and
their pictures. There are lots more. In fact Tina
got a bartending job in Atlanta...whoa!!! In Virginia Laurie took
a bartending job at La Sandia Tequila Bar, Naomi landed a bartending
gig at the newish Thirsty Bernie's in Arlington and a second gig at
National Harbour, Dennis will be bartending at National Conference Center
in Lansdowne, and Maggie got a bartending spot at Charlie Chiang's in
Shirlington. In fact there are too many to list...So if you want
to find out where are grads are getting jobs arrange to visit us, see
the school, and find out how we can report this volume of job placement
activity.
February,
2010 UPDATE: February
Recap: We can report about another 70 grads landed bartending
jobs in February. They ranged from Dave and Busters at Arundill
Mills, to Kilroy's in Woodbridge Va, and Paul's Deli in Williamsburg,
Va. They included swank dining spots/entertaning spots like Peachez
Cafe/Lounge in Upper Marlboro to the largest Country Western Bar in
the region, Nicks in Alexandria, to Delta Blues Juke Joint in Waldorf.
A host of grads picked up bartending gigs in Adams Morgan and U Street.
We saw grads become a bar manager and bartenders on H Street,
NE. Several Friday's hired a bunch of grads for different locations.
Finally a couple of grads picked up hotel bartending gigs in Bethesda
and Downtown. Nice going PBS grads. Now start earning those
TIPS!!
What
were you doing during the horrible snows of the second week in February.
We were helping graduates land bartender jobs. We can report
that 17 grads landed regular bartending gigs while snow stopped everyone
else in the Mid Atlantic. On top of that we continue to staff
parties, and catered events throughout the area. Oh yeah....the
week before..when it wasn't snowing we saw 18 grads land bartending
jobs (again not including parties and catered events).
Since
the beginning of the year, we have had graduates that range in age from
the low twenties to the late 40's land bartending jobs. They are
students, they were unemployed, and they are working full time at other
jobs.
Since
January, grads have landed bartending gigs as far South as Fredericksburg,
Va, and as far North as Eldersburg, Md. We have grads use our
methods and contacts to land bartending jobs in other states.
They've landed bartender jobs in chain restaurants, Hot clubs, neighborhood
bars, clubs, hotels and sports bars. The graduates that have landed
recent jobs include both graduates from this year, and bartending school
grads from years ago. They've been landing jobs in Hyattsville,
Adelphi, Mitchelville, Bethesda, DC, and of course Northern VA, including
right around the corner from us. Everyone likes our placement
program.
January,

won't see this kind of information anywhere in the nation!! Our

stretch from Eldersburg, North of Baltimore, to Fredericksburg in Va,

- National
Bartending Job Placement Assistance: We
get asked about this all the time. Here are some relevant updates.
Having operated this school, and others for decades here is what we
do. We actively cooperate with schools all over the nation.
In fact we are unique. We encourage cooperation. We aren't
parts of unique groups that cooperate with schools in some cities
and not others. We cooperate and work with everyone. It
works so much better for our grads.
- But there is more. Our own job placement assistance
program comes with an initial "How to get a bartending job anywhere
A to Z checklist. Having operated bars, been bartenders, worked
with thousands of bar owners and managers--it is more thorough, more
complete, and more realistic than all other materials we have seen.
Its a great summary of how to get a bartending job anywhere and in
any setting.
- When it comes to relocating to another area with
bartending schools our open door cooperative basis works with schools
everywhere in every metropolitan region. We contact them, ensure
the follow up remind them of our efforts on your behalf. We
basically go the extra mile to ensure you get well taken care of.
In fact we have excellent established relationships with a well known
New
York Bartending School where they've helped our grads in NYC and
we've helped their grads in DC.
- Here are some sample schools where the local owners
will go the extra mile to help you in a thorough manner. If
you are thinking of parts of California then we'll ensure you get
great assistance at the Los
Angeles Bartending Schools. Thinking of the New York City
area? Check out this other New
York City bartending school. We have been working with them
for years. We have plenty of other contacts and will be happy
to help you out.
- DECEMBER '07 Updates: Jonas,
one of our favorites is the Bartending Manager at Park
at 14th in downtown DC. You have to stop at Park. It is
very hot. Live in Southern Maryland? Stephanie, is a killer
bartender at the Hard Times Cafe in Waldorf. Stop by and buy
a drink from her. She is terrific. Cagney is bartending
at O'Malleys' Sports Bar in the Holiday Inn at Crystal City.
That is a great gig, and during holiday season it can't be beat for
making money. Both Casey and Christina bartend day and evening
shifts at at Kitty O'Shea's just down the street from us in Arlington.
Stop by to see them. Brian landed a bartending job in Gaithersburg,
and Nathan, is bartending in Olde Towne Alexandria. Kyree is
bartending in Chevy Chase at Indique Heights full time. And
by the way, our friends are operating a Pittsburgh
Bartending School; 2121 Noblestown Road, Pittsburgh, PA.
If you are hanging out in Adams Morgan visit recent grad Tony at Heaven
& Hell. Tony bartends Thursday through Saturday nights where
he is serving up a new drink he created, Liquid Ice. He gave
the recipe and its on our New Drinks Page
- November
hirings and opportunities: In
some ways this is the easiest time of the year to get immediate bartending
jobs. Its Party Season. Last December we received requests
for over 100 bartenders each from 3 separate caterers for three weekends.
THEY NEEDED 900 bartenders! And that just touches the
surface. We provided bartenders for lots of parties in Maryland,
DC, and Virginia.
- Even
while that is happening we heard that Gina landed a bartending job
at Buffalo D's in Arlington, James, who has been consistenty bartending
for almost 2 years as a part time gig on top of his regular job took
a bartending job in Clinton at Ruby Tuesday's, Christina landed a
job close to the school in Arlington--cripes you can visit the school
and walk a block to ask her about bartending jobs, and Eddie looks
very cool working at the main bar at Jury's Hotel in Downtown/Dupont
Circle area in DC!!!!
- Our
Flair Bartenders Hit the Big Time!! When
Washingtonian Magazine covers a topic in its "AFTER HOURS BLOG"
you know its a big deal and worth seeing in the region. Well
they interviewed two of the best
flair bartenders on the East Coast, our own instructor Moe,and
his flair partner Freddie B. Both are members of The Pour Boys.
Its a fun article to read. These guys are real, they are nice,
and they are amazing to watch. Check it out in the article,
at one of their shows, or see what they are up to at our school.
- Nifty
Testimonial: Its
October and we just found this nifty testimonial about our DC
bartending school written back in July, '07. Its fair.
Its not just a made up statement but includes comments that debate
the issue. But we appreciate the positive comments. And
those grads are aware they can not only get refresher courses but
they can get updated job leads whenever they wish. In fact its
October and reviewing our latest job leads we see a lot of recent
bartending job leads from close in Arlington and Alexandria but also
from out in Dulles. In Washington DC we have a lot of hotel
bartending job leads. And in Maryland we have recently added
bartending jobs from Bethesda, Greenbelt, Silver Spring and near the
Baltimore Washington Airport. Check our leads on a visit.
You'll find bartending job opportunities from throughout the region.
- Meanwhile
we got a visit from our 2004 grad Vino. Vino has been bartending
at Love since then and holds down a weekday corporate job. He
thinks that the last 10 new hires all came from our school.
Love, formerly known as Dream, has over 50 bartenders on staff for
their various shifts. This summer we trained and certified their entire
management staff in our DC accepted alcohol management program.
- And
another update from an old grad who has worked at least 7 different
places; always part time always while he has held a steady job:
Jay called the other day. He graduated at the end of
1999 and has kept steady part time bartending jobs for the last 7.5
years. He currently works at the Pinzimi Bar at the Westin Gateway
Hotel in Arlington down the street from the school. Over the
years he has had part time bartending work at the Left Bank, City
Tavern Club, an Applebee's, Uno's, Ridgewells, and still foundly remembers
the very first bartending gig he got at the now closed Heart and Soul
Cafe on Capitol Hill, 8th Street, SE. That
came right off our job leads list. Jay referred his sister Shayla
currently in grad school. We reminded him to tell her to hit
us up for job leads, especially since the busy catering season has
again started. What was amazing and timely Jay, who has always
been a part-time bartender had his best week ever just two weeks ago.
Working only 3 days he earned between $1,500-2,000 during a very busy
week at the hotel. Congratulations, Jay!!! He is currently
working Mon, Wed, and, Fridays. If you want to find out about
bartending and sit in a very sleek sharp bar....visit him.
- Summer
Updates August '07. We have been busy and and haven't
been able to update...so here is some cool news about graduates and
staff.
- Over
the last 10-15 years...if you asked people in the know about the single
best bartending job in the entire DC region, including Suburban
Maryland and Northern Virginia...9 times out of 10 you'd hear the
River Bar at Sequoia Restaurant in Georgetown during the summer.
Victor, a 2005 grad has been working the river bar all summer.
Congratulations Victor.
- The
Crystal City Sports Pub in Arlington has been voted the 20th best
sports bar in America and the best in the DC area. Open since
1994, the bar recently expanded by building two additional floors
to handle its huge crowds. Joey, a 2006 grad recently landed
a job as a bartender and manager. Congrats Joey!!
- Harris,
a spring '07 grad, has been in the food business his whole life.
He opened Buffalo D's Wings and Things in the beginning of July this
summer in Ballston in Arlington....and this place is jammed already.
Its got the best prices and enormous crowds. If you live near
Ballston, stop by at Buffalo D's--hot wings, cold beer, a great crowd
and great prices.
- Want
to have a blast on a Thursday night, before Summer ends. Visit
Roxanne's at 2319 Columbia Road in Adams Morgan, either August 23
or August 30. Moe and Freddie B from ThePourBoys are tending
bar and performing flair bartending along with entertaining a rocking
crowd. Entertainment starts at 9:00 PM!!!
- And
for who has landed jobs recently; Ivy landed 2 jobs at
Napolean and Cafe Bonaparte in Adams Morgan and Georgetown days after
she graduated. April was hired at the Legend in Temple Hills,
Kurt got a job at Majestic Cafe in Alexandria, Philippa was hired
at H2O and Amanda at Love, Maria got a job at Bethesda Country Club,
and Pooja started bartending at the Flaming Pit in Gaithersburg...just
to name a few grads with a few bartending jobs in every kind of environment
and part of the region. Roxanna came in at the start of the
summer and was tired of office work. Within days of graduating
she landed two jobs; one at our old friends at Pat Troy's in Olde
Towne and a second with an all new employer at National Airport.
Actually, a tremendous number of other grads were hired recently.
Want to check it out? Set up a free class visit and see both
who has been hired and where.....and which employers are looking for

2007 BARTENDING JOBS UPDATES:
- Jesse
is our Bartending Grad of the month. Jesse graduated in 2005
almost 2 years ago and stopped by the other day. He was a barback
when he took the class. Now he is the Bartending Manager at
the Hilton Alexandria at the King Street Metro. Jesse has managed
to get the company to pay for classes in Exclusive Scotches in Scotland,
for Woodford Preserve Bourbon and is now taking Sommelier
classes. He runs the schedule at the hotel, getting the best
shifts, makes a good salary on top of excellent tips and gets corporate
health and travel benefits. Want to find out about bartending?
Visit Jesse at the Hilton Tuesday-Saturday nights.
- Not
only are we still adding new job leads since that rush of bartending
job opportunities during January but we have been informed of about
30 grads being placed since the year began. Come on in and see
where they are working in MD, DC, and Virginia. We are proud
to say that Sally, Chris, and Ben got jobs almost immediately as we
were able to direct them to new bartending job leads that fit them,
their personalities, and addresses to a tee. We can't do that
all the time...but no other source of so many bartending jobs can
supply the opportunities. Schedule a free class to see where
our grads are working near you!
- January
2007 update on Job Placement Assistance!! Want to see something
that's amazing? Our job placement assitance person is in the
midst of updating bartending job leads. January should always
be a heavy month for new jobs. Well--in Virginia alone we have
up to 50 new part time and full time bartending job opportunities
for grads. We are in the midst of updating job leads in
Maryland and DC. You can't find that kind of opportunity anywhere
else--on Craigslist, the papers, on the web, etc. Don't believe
it? Set up a free class visit and see our activity!! We
are working double time to help grads. Ben, a GW student came
back for a freerefresher class and practice. We had a new job

our bartending school grad of the month. She graduated in 2002

update! Management loved the opportunity; is following
up with 3-5 grads and will continue to use this source for more bartender
positions.
- A
Great Bartending Success Story: Paul
stopped by with a great bartending success story. He took the
class in May with a need for a part time bartending job that would
bring in income during a short period of need. Two weeks after
graduating he landed a job with a quality bar/restaurant right off
our jobs leads list. He was the right person at the right time. The
job lead came from a friend in the industry who has known the DC region
bar business for 30 years! 7 weeks later Paul had earned about
double his financial goal. Every week of part-time work more than
paid for our quick class. Now he has a new baby and is taking
a leave of absense from the bar. They still love him and
he can pick up more hours when he is ready. And he has this
great skill he can use when he wants and access to our updated job
leads at any time. Good luck with the baby, Paul!!
- November
NewsFlash: Rich walked into the school dressed as a bartender.
He graduated in early November, didn't have initial luck after our
job assistance meeting, came back to us and we personally led him
to a couple of our latest hottest leads. He's bartending at
Bebo Trattoria--which looks like the hottest bar in the attractive
booming Crystal City Restaurant Row. Congrats Rich!!
- November/December
Highlights 2006: We've been busting busy
with classes, new bartending job leads and active job placement throughout
Maryland DC and Virginia for the past 3 months. We've learned
of grads getting bartending jobs in Clinton, Bladensburg, at Prince
Georges Plaza, in Camp Springs and Rockville in Maryland. In
DC we've had grads land jobs in Dupont Circle, U Street, ChinaTown
near the Verizon Center, and at Clubs throughout the region.
During the winter Downtown/Chinatown bartending is extemely busy as
the Wizards and Caps have over 80 busy games with an anticipated 1
million visitors. Virginia bartenders have landed jobs in Manassas,
Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax and all around Dulles Airport!
- Lots
of employers wanting us to filter grads to them. We've received
employer requests to filter grads to 2 different clubs in Adams Morgan,
a sports bar in Arlington, a high end trendy bar restaurant, and a
club in Hyattsville. Employers feel comfortable having us send
select grads to them that meet their needs.
- Want
to learn about Country Club Bartending? Our old grad Eduardo,(PBS
grad from 1999) recently called us about several positions at the
Country Club he manages. He has bartended at restaurants, clubs
and now country clubs and swears by the income and benefits at a Country
Club. Stop by and we will fill you in on these potentially lucrative
opportunities.

- More
Bartending Jobs throughout Maryland, DC, and Virginia. Our
bartending placement director is really revving up helping grads get
jobs throughout MD, VA, and DC. Besides the numerous grads landing
bartending jobs in DC, Fort Washington, Fairfax, Silver Spring, Gaithersburg,
Largo, Springfield, Greenbelt, Alexandria, Oxon Hill, Arlington, Centreville,
and beyond; we went into overdrive to help employers who specifically
wanted us to filter grads into their establishments. We provided
two TGI Friday's with 25 grads of which 7 were offereed bartender
positions in Tysons Corner; we filtered a grad into an immediate need
at a popular restaurant/club in Adams Morgan; and we generated 6 potential
grads for a popular club in Suburban Maryland. Each of these
establishments have hired extensively from the Professional Bartending
School in the past and we see them and many others continuing to use
our services into the future!!!! Check out our active
job placement lists with current employers and grads who recently
landed jobs. You will be amazed at how active, diverse, and
current this program is.
- May,
2006 Bartending News: We visited Colin at Summers
Sports bar in Arlington, just a few blocks from the school.
Colin has about 2 months bartending experience now...and geez does
he ever look the part. He is bartending up to 6 evenings/week.
During the short time we were there it looked like he rang up close
to $200. When we were leaving he had introduced himself to two
lovely customers, both ordering 1800 Margarita's on the rocks, salted
rims with 1/2 the mix. What a pro!!!! You might remember
Summers. During 2002 it received world-wide publicity for televising
World Cup Soccer matches 24 hours/day. Colin is looking forward
to bartending during the World Cup this summer.
- Tyeshia
called and is working at Hoolihans in Springfield. Gallie, who
just graduated, picked up a bartending position off our jobs leads
list on U Street. We loved this next one. We had a visit
from a party host, Jack, an attorney from Fairfax that used our bartending
service. Amy, who has a full time job bartended at his party
during the first weekend of May. Jack walked in and told us
she was great...and made a terrific Martini...just the way he liked
it. Amy has been getting steady catering work every week through
us and a caterer we introduced her to. She loves it.
- May
9, 2006: We added 6 new bartender job leads in Virginia today
in Sterling, Alexandria, and Arlington. One came in from our
grad Jerry. Many of our job leads come from the enormous number
of grads who are now bar managers throughout Maryland, DC, and Virginia.
Not one of those jobs is being advertised in print or the web.
Don't believe us? Come in for a free class and check out the
bartending job opportunities!
- 5/11/06.
Carey, from Brunswick in Frederick County was one of five partying
graduates on April 30. She called us today letting us know she
picked up a part-time bartending job directly off our jobs lead list.
As far as we know she is first from that group of graduating/partying
bartenders.
- 5/17/06
Semper Fi! Marine Bartenders. We just heard from Dave,
a Marine referred to the school by Jonas, an older grad with whom
he served. Dave graduated last week and is now bartending at
The Hawk and Dove on Capitol Hill. So many Marines stationed
so close to the Hawk!!!!! I wonder if they tip well?
- 5/18/06
We added 7 new bartender job leads in VA, MD, and DC including 1 in
Eldersburg, Maryland North and West of Baltimore. On top of
that it looks like 23 grads will staff parties and events this weekend;
an added part-time job opportunity. Finally, we heard from a
grad trying to find work in another city through our reciprocal job-placement
program. No job leads at all from that school. There is
a big difference in a full-service bartending school!!
- April,
2006 Bartending News: Sherri got a second bartending
job in Laurel, Maryland. We told her she was the bartending
jobs list queen. She told us it was easy. She went there
last Tuesday, and started work the next day. Justin, a grad
from last December, called from his bartending job in Sterling, Va.
He has been bartending since January. His restaurant/bar added
3 immediate bartending positions on our jobs leads list. Tom,
who is a bartending/manager called with some bartending/serving job
leads in Olde Towne Alexandria and we added a strong bartending opportunity
in Tysons Corner. Meanwhile, we are working on staffing a couple
of catered events in Richmond, Virginia. All that-and its only
April 3!!
- Including
this past Christmas season we have directly placed over 100 graduates
for catering/bartending jobs in Maryland, DC, and Virginia.
Additionally, we had weeks when the caterers needed over 100 bartenders.
- Some
of our grads land bartending jobs without ever looking at the Classified
Ads. Our job placement lists are current, active and continuously
refreshed with bartender job leads in MD, DC, and VA. During
the last few weeks in April '06 Tia, Deneen, Michael, Seth,
Sheri, and Clay landed bartending jobs in Laurel, Largo, DC, and VA
all right off our active bartender job leads list.
- While
March was a big month for adding bartending job leads throughout Maryland,
in the last week of April and early May we added about 20 new job
leads near Dulles in Virginia.
- We
just heard from Sonia. She graduated on April 15, and landed
a bartending job at a popular bar near Catholic U by the end of April.
It came right off our bartender jobs leads list.
- Bartending
School Highlights:
- Maryland
Bartending:
During the first 2 weeks of March, '06 we added over 30 bartending
job leads in Prince George's, Montgomery, Ann Arundel, and Baltimore
County. We know of recent graduate bartenders hired in Gaithersburg,
Rockville, Silver Spring, Oxon Hill, Wheaton and Waldorf. And
Margarita(great name for a bartender) has been working at Club Mate
in Baltimore. Meanwhile, we received updates from our class
of 2004. Charles, with a full-time career, has focused on bartending/catering,
and often works with an elite catering firm out of Catonsville, near
Baltimore. Charles is willing to fill in students on lucrative
catering opportunities. Sheila, has been a full-time bartender
since she graduated. She has worked at DC/Maryland clubs since
she graduated, bartended in California, and now is back in the region
arranging bartending/catering opportunities for herself and other
grads.
- DC
Bartending: May
just started and we learned that Chris an '05 grad with experience
at two places just got hired at Marshalls in the West End. He'll
join our grads Alysse and Jessica, who started there earlier in the
year. In March we filtered and referred grads to potential bartender
employers for a high end hotel, a popular club and one of the most
popular bars on Capitol Hill. Speaking of Capitol Hill, Jen,
an August '05 grad is a bar manager at The Hawk and Dove. Recent
grads have landed bartending jobs in Georgetown, U Street, Adams Morgan
and Dupont Circle. Once again, graduates of our bartending academy
were awesome during the annual DC fastest bartender competition.
Antoine, an instructor, took 3rd place, a huge trophy and cash.
Meanwhile 3 other grads finished in the top 10 including, Jonas, Tony,
and Dave.
- Virginia
Bartending: As of early May '06 we added
about 20 bartending job leads in Western Fairfax County, Loudon and
around Dulles. We staffed a corporate party with 10 bartenders/caterers;
all grads of the school and are aware of grads landing bartending
jobs in Herndon, Leesburg, Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, and McLean.
The long-term success of our on-site interviews with some regional
Friday's has led to more bartending opportunities with Friday's in
Herndon, Tysons, Springfield, and others areas. Prior to this,
Friday's had never hired from anywhere but their waitstaff.
- The
Professional Bartending School sponsors the Pour Boys, the Region's
Wildest Best Bar Party. Crowds, Bar Managers and Bar Owners
love this Competition/Show featuring the Best Flair Bartenders and

event.

Beach, Coyote Ugly and Grevey's. Get on the bandwagon and join
the party for 2006.Check out These

Park. Calvin has bartended at 94th Aerosquadron in College Park,
two upscale restaurants in Bethesda, Heaven and Hell in Adams Morgan
and has picked up lots of bartending/catering work with Windows.

- When
we say Free Refresher Bartending Classes we aren't kidding!
Renia, who took the class in 1986 took a free refresher class in August,
2004. Aaron, a 1988 grad of our school just came in for refresher
classes starting in February, 2006. Aaron graduated in 1988
and brought in his bartending certificate. He had bartended
at RSVP, Phillips Restaurant, Mirage, Chapter III, Vie de France,
National Airport, and the Olive Garden. He last
bartended about 10 years ago. Our school, one of the largest
on the East Coast, has always been able to help old grads with FREE
REFRESHERS, one of the best benefits of the school according to the
many grads that use this resource.
- Gloria
is bartending with friends at the new Raptures in Columbia Maryland
- Bar
owners throughout the region often get the fastest results when contacting
our school about bartending opportunities. Within the first
week of opening two bartenders at the new Lime Club in DC were recent
grads, Sheba and Sandi.
- Co-operative
